About this site
Where stories unreel as pages turn: our curated life.
We're Jason and Karrie — a husband and wife team with a shared house, a shared collection, and a mild disagreement about how much shelf space is reasonable.
Jason is the movie dragon. Physical media, mostly. He's the one hosting weekly movie night and the one who has opinions about which edition you should actually buy. Karrie is the Book Dragon — because let's be honest, why be a bookworm when you can be a book dragon? Same instinct, better hoard.
Reel and Tome started as a way to keep track of our own curation. What's coming out, what we've picked up, what actually earned its spot on the shelf. We were already doing the work; we just weren't writing any of it down.
So now we are. Here's what you'll find:
- Weekly release reports — new films and new books, what's landing and what looks worth your time
- Reviews and watches — what we've been getting through, and whether it stuck
- Collection highlights — the things we're proudest of owning, and occasionally the ones we regret
This isn't a growth blog. There's no engagement strategy. It's a household archive that happens to be public, mostly because a handful of friends and family kept asking what we'd been watching and reading — and because we figure other collectors might find some of this useful too.
Pull up a chair. Mind the stacks.
